Wilderness First Aid Course (First Timer)

An event every day that begins at 9:00 am, repeating until October 4, 2019
The course is designed for those who work in the wilderness tourist / education industry in a leadership capacity or who are preparing to do so and require the skills and knowledge to provide advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders and provide first aid to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation until the arrival of medical or other assistance. It is intended for those wishing to provide first aid in remote areas.
This is a five day course running from September 30 to October 4.
The following Skill Set has been identified through consultation with the Outdoor Council of Australia (OCA), the peak body for the Outdoor Recreation industry and will be utilised as the basis for the registration requirements of programs like the National Outdoor Leader Registration Scheme (NOLRS). This course is also known as Remote Area First Aid which course satisfies the Code of Practice – First Aid in the Workplace and NSW Adventure Activity Standards.
Prior to enrolling you will need to confirm that you have read the student pre enrolment information which can be found here.
Once you have enrolled you will be required to:
- Complete the online pre course work
- Print the completion certificate (or screen shot) and bring it to the first day of your course
- Make payment for the course either online or through bank transfer
