While we have many experienced singers, membership is open to anyone who is willing to learn. We provide online music resources and extra workshops and rehearsals, which are particularly helpful to those who do not read music and/or are discovering and developing their singing voice.

Blackheath Theatre Company aims to produce plays, encourage local playwrights, run workshops in all aspects of theatre from production to advertising, make-up, sound and lighting, acting and directing. We aim to be inclusive, providing a platform for a range of talents.

Blackheath's discussion group. Friendly supportive atmosphere. Haemochromatosis is the most common genetic disorder in Australia. About 1 in 200 people of northern European origin have the genetic risk for haemochromatosis. People with haemochromatosis absorb too much iron from their diet. The excess iron is stored in the body. Over time this leads to iron overload.

Volunteers welcome on the 4th Saturday of each month (except December) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Come when you can, leave when you need to.

Varied and interesting outings for active, older people. $15 per outing.

What do you call someone who sings in Blackheath? A Heathen of course! We are an inclusive and welcoming choir to all comers, from novices to experienced singers. If you love music but think you can’t sing, we don’t believe you. Our aim is to get the best possible musical result out of enjoyable rehearsals. In non-pandemic years we perform throughout the year at concerts, local festivals community events.

The Blackheath Knitwits are a knitting group that knit various items for community services and charity groups like Katoomba's Thrive Family Support services, ‘Wrapped With Love’, Junction 142 and Soul Kitchen. If you’d like to join in, head on down and meet new friends while knitting for some great causes.

No previous writing experience is required. There is lots of fun and literary satisfaction on offer. Cost: $2 per week
